On June 24th, the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. With nearly half of the states expected to ban or limit abortion, nearly 36 million women will no longer have access to critical health care that had been deemed a constitutional right in 1973.

 

EcoWomen stands in support of bodily autonomy and the right to abortion (view our full statement here). Both community and individual action will be critical to clawing back this right, as well as safeguarding others that are threatened by the Court, like same-sex marriage and access to contraceptives.
